Electronic transcript exchange is finally here!
The National Transcript Center defines co-academic organizations as traditional recipients of academic transcripts but not academic institutions themselves (for example, employers and scholarship organizations). NTC can help streamline your selection, certification and outbound transcript sending processes through electronic transcript exchange. Electronic transcripts are much faster, more secure and less expensive than paper – all while improving your data quality and helping the environment.
Inbound transcripts and applications:
NTC offers an easy-to-use, secure Web-based system to receive and request electronic transcripts. You will receive electronic transcripts from schools in the seven states in which we have statewide contracts with PK-12 state education agencies:

You will also receive electronic transcripts from individual districts and private schools that join NTC outside the scope of a statewide contract. NTC is the largest provider of electronic transcripts in the world, and as the size of our network grows, so does its value to you.
Transcripts you receive are in a standardized format, which speeds up your processing time.
In addition, you can use NTC's simple system to request a transcript from any school in the country – whether or not that school is a member of NTC. Want to see for yourself how easy it is to request a transcript? Watch our training video. We'll also post a video soon about receiving transcripts.
Outbound transcripts:
If you need to send transcripts as well, we can help you save a lot of time and money with electronic transcripts. Transcripts can be uploaded to our secure server as PDFs or data (see the Membership section below). Then, you log in to our Web-based system, select the student, select as many recipients as you want, confirm and click "Send." It's really that easy – see for yourself in our training videos:

You can send transcripts to any academic institution in the country, whether or not the recipient is a member of NTC. If the recipient is a member, it will receive the transcript electronically. If not, it will receive the transcript printed on secure transcript paper in the mail. Either way, all you need to do is click once to add it to your list of recipients for that delivery. We take care of the rest.
And, you can also send transcripts to employers, overseas institutions, other organizations, and the students themselves – anybody with an email address. We'll deliver an Adobe®/GeoTrust®-certified blue ribbon PDF of the transcript to them securely.
If you need to send any other documents with the transcript – say, a letter of recommendation, an art portfolio, a musical performance, or all three – just attach them to the transcript. We'll deliver those for you, too.
Certainly, security and privacy are of paramount importance. All of our statewide contracts have required thorough evaluations. Our system is FERPA-compliant, and we would be happy to answer any questions.
