National Transcript Center – Iowa Transcript Center

In 2009, the Iowa Department of Education (Iowa DE) contracted the National Transcript Center (NTC) to develop a system to facilitate the electronic exchange of student records and transcripts in the state of Iowa. This system, the Iowa Transcript Center (ITC), is scheduled to go live in the Spring of 2010.

ITC enables all public PK-12 schools and postsecondary institutions in Iowa to send transcripts electronically to in-state public schools (PK-12 and higher education) at no cost to the school or district.

	Module 1 (rev. 4/08) – Log in to the system, send a record/transcript, review the home page, edit your profile, and access online help.
	Module 2 (rev. 4/08) – Send multiple records/transcripts, upload a transcript legend, add attachments to records/transcripts, and search the database using wildcards.

	DATA STANDARDS - The Iowa file format is based on the SIF Student Record Exchange object. Here is detailed information on the file format and Iowa data element mapping for Transcripts and Student Records:
	IA_SIF_Mapping.xls lists the data elements for Iowa Student Records and Transcripts and defines where each element goes in the SIF Student Record Exchange layout.
